Quinte Fishing

I was out trolling last weekend close to Thompson's Point. I saw a man in a blue 14 ft aluminum boat trolling with two lines. I thought anything east of the ferry, which is lake ontario, you were allowed two lines per person. Since he was in the bay, he should only be trolling with one line? Where's the MNR when you need them.

Another question, is there a rule on how far you can run a planar board from the boat?

Ya only one line is permitted west of the Glenora ferry.

I don't think there is a set rule for the length you can have a board out. I'm sure you can run them as long as you want as long as they run properly. BUT you have to take into consideration you're sharing the waterway with sometimes many other anglers. With long lines out, you're taking up a lot of room and could get tight with others doing the same.
I know the further out the better chance you'll get undisturbed fish and the longer distances would help with finicky/spooky fish.
We personally don't have our boards out too far. We've run only 2 off each side at the max so no big deal. We've slammed fish with them only 10 ft off to the side.
