Hi guys!

In respect to the Belleville or Trenton area what fish are available to be caught during the winter months?

I know of the obvious like Pickerel, Pike and Perch.

What else is out there?

Thats why people fish Quinte.

They don't fish for perch that for sure.

I take it that the perch are on the small side compared to the jumbos in Simcoe.

So....what else is being caught?

Whitefish?

They call Deseronto the WALLEYE Capitol and that what the Americans come to this area to catch.

Best Walleye fishing in North America.

Perch is a Bi-Catch that no one really wants and generally are put back for Walleye.

Trenton was reporting some jumbo perch last week up to 1.5lbs. Typically the perch are on the small side but it seems there are alot of jumbos in trenton. Other species around which have not been targted are crappie & whitefish. Both are abundant but with everyone focusing on walleye we generally don't hear about anything else. In terms of pike, the one comment I hear consistenly from out of towners is the that the average sized pike here are bigger than they have seen else where.
