Quinte Fishing

The Ice in and around Brighton is still to dangerous to be on when I last checked on Monday, Dec 30.2002. I tried fishing in the canal behind the house. Heared a lot of crackling and shifting of ice when I was on it, boy was I frightened so I got quickly got off the ice! When I drilled a hole it was about six inches but a little slushy on top. Then I drove out to Brighton bay and saw some ice but a lot of open water. I also drove out to Trenton over the bridge and didn't see any nuts like me, trying to ice fish! We need some solid -10 weather to get the huts out . Everyone be careful out there I would not want anyone to be falling through thin ice! Everyone who lives or visits the area should report ice conditions so that we don't have any casualities for locals or tourists!!

At the end of Dufferin St . in Trenton out towards Indian island there is 8 inches of black ice.We got no pickeral but did get 9 perch 9-10 inches long.
