Just a quick report from two guides that give me reports. Sherman’s point and Thompson point areas are producing good fish. The one guide was telling me to run back a hundred yards with your favorite lures and don't add clip waits, the active fish are above the deep fish that you are marking. They don’t show up very often on the sonar but the reason he believes is because their on the move feeding. He’s running cranks that dive anywhere from 8 ft down to 12ft. The other guide agrees with his observations and also said that he is doing great with his clients at the Deseronto Bridge and in the telegraph narrows jigging both jig heads and jigging spoons tipped with average to small minnows. The small minnows they are doubling up on the hook. He has boated some 9"s up to 14's doing this. He also told me that their preferred lure is the minnow rap in shad colour and hot steel.
The fishing from shore has been on and off day by day this year but we are doing better when their on with shallow diving cranks. My preferred have been the glass shad rap in gost colour and the salmo minnow crank in blue/white and brown trout. The other guys that are having real good results (when it happens) are using the x-rap in both the blue/white and the pure white.
Hopefully this will help ........Ron

Ya that would work forsure! Ron I saw and was doing this at the hole in Massausuga pointe in Belleville, two guys had 4 eyes all released 9ish sized fish...... also they had 6 giant cats biggest was lost at the boat I watched that fish get off and it was huge! We managed a small cat 6 pounds on a buckshhot tipped with three minnows!

Thanks for the tips Ron, they are very key. My dad has told me for years thats its not the fish that are deep that are the ones to target, but the ones that are above them, proves true, guess thats why he keeps catching fish. Thanks, very useful info.
