To report, no walleye in the area but many perch.
3-4 iches of solid dark ice, walked to middle of bay. Fished for 3 or 4 hours and only got a couple good bites, besides perch. Hook sets are free, just not today.

Only fished Hay Bay for the first time last spring. Had a blast catching eyes, pike, and sheephead. How is Hay Bay for perch? I hear people catching some there but I don't know if there is any size and if there are many. Any info would be great. I will be visiting a friend's cottage a few times this winter and might give it a shot if his lake isn't producing.

JFISH, we caught a ton of perch last winter. Quite a few were pretty decent size. In front of the old church is really good for them and they will bite on pretty much anything.

Thanks for the info Fish Hunter. Not familiar with the area. Where exactly is the "old church". North, West, East or South side?

Oh I c. I assume I could probably find it now. When I head up that way I will PM you to see what the conditions are like. Maybe meet up on the ice. Have you been out yet or is the ice too thin still?

I haven't been out yet but others have been.
Still a little thin for my liking but this cold weather is really helping.
Shoot me a PM if you're gonna come out and chances are I'd join ya for a fish.
