Just hard water fishiing

Took the vex for a walk today.The fishing has been spotty marking alot of fish but the one s that we are catching are spiting up shad so the fishing will get better as winter goes on

You say the fishin will get better. Is that because the Shad will die, or the Walleye just eat them all.
