Hey,

Where would be a good spot to access the ice tomorrow morning? Preferrably with safe ice and a good chance of catching something.

I just need an access point.......I'll figure out the rest.

Feel free to PM any info.

Thanks in advance,
Sinker

Thanks for the reply.

I was hoping to get out around Belleville/bigbay area.

......all I need is a spot to park my van and walk out on the ice with decent ice.....no need for hotspots. I have lots of years on the ice, and know what to look for. I'd rather go and check it out myself, than take someones word on a report.

If I had an access, I could start punching waypoints in my GPS from maps I have here on the puter.

where exactly is the " Old Church " located on Hay Bay. I am new to this board and find all your posts very helpfull. We are thinking of planning a trip this summer. I read lots of posts for hay bay, but can't seem to find where exactly it is. I found Shermans and Thompsons points. Just trying to plot some way points for the trip. Any hazard way points would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Dave

Sherman's Point has good parking and there is 4-5 inches of ice. Watch out for pressure cracks. Was out today and picked up a couple Walleye and long line released some others. Action was very slow compared to 3 weeks ago.

George Street is an untapped resource. There is lots of parking and close to town. In the hey day of icefishing in Belleville ( mid 70's - 80's ) it use to be packed down there. Guys use to plow road out on the Bay and have street names where their huts were. I know that the tug boat is a factor.
Someone should be checking that area out. There is a big chunk of bay not being fished. Gary

You may want to check this link first.....

I'm pretty sure this will put a damper on the Goerge St access....

WHO would be SOO STUPID to drive a tractor that size on 10in of ice.
I wouldn't drive my truck on less than 12.
The city has lots of small machines. I also would not drive a vehcle on the ice without person 8O ally checking it.
