This morning we were fishing by ourselves, so we decided to check out Rush Bar with hopes of having enough ice to possibly walk on. That theory was quickly changed and we turned around and drove to Point Anne. Point Anne West's ice is very minimal, and with the warmer weather for the next two days, we may lose an inch that will render it unsafe for even walking until we have some colder temperatures. There is a lot of current in that area at the moment, and it will quickly eat away at the ice. When people fish with us, their safety is our top priority and even though we went searching on minimal ice today, we will not bring anyone with us in those areas. The fish were very aggressive this morning for a very short window of time.

If you are coming from out of town, to make the most of your trip, you want to be in the prime location during this window, or you may miss out altogether. We caught a fish on video this morning and will try to get that posted online soon.

I agree with you Jeff, I was out there on Saturday and it was 4 1/2 " where I was and where the ice has previously broken up in the past mild weather we had, I noticed its frooze very shift meaning alot of air is in that ice so be careful. I did see one guy pull in a doozy and said he got 2 like that in the morning but he is a local and knows the area so go where the groups of people are is the best bet right now. We caught a few decent perch and had some good thunks. I think that pointe anne is a pass for now but straight across is prolly much safer with lesser current in areas and prolly just as many fish if not more.
Mike :)
