Just wondering if anyone icefishes any of the lakes in Prince Edward County like Conscecon, East or West lake? Not looking for any honey holes just interested if anyone does hit these lakes at all in the winter. I camp in the area and fish these lakes alot just never in the winter season. Any info would be much appreciated. I'm planning on maybe drowning baits there this weekend if anyone would care to join me.

Not sure who East Lake Willows is. , But I can tell you about West lake.

Here is a picture of me yesterday. As you can see I don't know the ice conditions but I have been succesful just off the point of Shebas Island. You'll see guys out there for sure. There is a bar about 3/4 of the way from Shebas Island over to Wesley Acres and that is good in the evenings as well. It is fun fishing and often pretty decent but no where near the chance of getting a 10lb fish like the bay. PM me if you need more info.

iceman...no worries. I wasn't offend it was good for a chuckle.

should I..shouldn't I...should I...no I shouldn't...but I will

I released the fish and I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture but the fish weren't frozen. I know the light isn't great and the eyes look a little milky on the third picture. Looks like there might be a little blood, but I promise it isn't frozen. Sorry I know that was uncalled for but I couldn't resist.

We also went diving and spear fishing here is a picture of a stone crab we speared...by the way it wasn't released...sorry but it tasted SOOOOO...GOOD!!

Thanks for the reply guys. Think I'll give it a go on Saturday. I'm hoping this cold spell will add a few inches.

Fisherboy: The ice cinditions you are talking about are they on the wellington side or on the dunes beach side? I was out on the ice in front of Hideaway trailer park on Saturday. I was down checking on my trailer and thought I would check the thickness. I was about 100 yards from shore and there was at least six inches. I wasn't fishing but did bring the auger just to test it out.

West Lake Willows: I gotta say those are some sweet looking fish from the sunny south. Thanks for making us all really jealous. LOL. Also thanks for the info, I have fished the lake alot but only during the soft water season.

Thanks again guys for the quick replys.

Kris,

I wish I was at the park and I could give you more information. sorry about that.

Anyway, I'm sure you know where our park is if you have a trailer in Hideaway. Swing in this summer and say hi. There's an ice cream cone on the house in it for you. We have lots of docking so just pull up any time.

Scott

I'm always available by email and will be back at the park by late February. They can take a look at our website at www.westlakewillows.com in the mean time. I would love to get out on the water with you. Scott

I already gave them your website address so you can expect to hear from them. As for a day on the water, I start going back down there every weekend the first Saturday in May. I'll keep in touch.
