Hey Gents,

I know the weather is starting to cooperate, is this cold snap helping the ice form in the Huffs area? Also, has anyone been on the ice in that area, if so, what's the thickness?

I'm definately interested in fishing that area this weekend, any info would be appreciated.

*What are the parking conditions like?

Cheers, Hodgey...

Should be lots of ice at Huffs now, only problem is parking, they have tightened down the parking at Huffs and put up more signs so I don't go there unless I can park on the ice and I don't want to do that right now so we have been going to Haybay north and south shores,( Sherman's&Old Church) lots of ice there.

Looking to take the 4 wheeler out off of Huffs, any clue if the ice is safe enough.

Also, I know parking has been a mess, anyone parking on the ice over there.

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers, Hodgey

LMckeown, thanks for the info pal.

Anyone else been over at Huffs lately? I'm gonna try it on Saturday, however I don't want to waste my time if I can't get out there.

Also, has anyone tried parking at Quick short and go out from there? Or can I park on the ice at Huffs Rd or up on the laneway?

Appreciate the help gents.

Cheers, Hodgey

I myself have not been to Quickshort this year ( a little afraid of the ice there this year) but I would think now it should be fine. As far as parking on Huffs road be very carefull, OPP have been visting there a lot so I hear. Lot's of no parking signs all the way down Huffs road. That's why we have been going to Sherman's and the old church a lot this year.Good luck

Hey LMckeown,

How do you get to the Church at Shermans Pt? I assume you keep going along the road same road that takes you to Huffs?

Cheers, Hodgey

No,the old church is on the south side of Haybay and Shermans is on the north, instead of turning on to the river road you keep on going on out to almost lake ontario just before the lake maybe 1mi. you turn right, and keep going on that road as far as you can, you will come to a T( You have to go right or left) turn right and go about another 2 mi. maybe and you will see Haybay and the boat ramp is right there.Anyone else know the road # as I don't.But yes if you want to go to Shermans stay on the same road as huffs untill you see Haybay then turn right just before you start going east on that road.
