Hi all,

Were up fishing from friday till monday this past weekend. Still had a
great time even though we only caught 2 legal fish.

Friday: Got in early afternoon, hit the ice about 4pm or so out in front
of Long Reach Campground. 5-6 inches of ice. We picked up 2 fish just before dark, including a 11 lb. 30 inch. This was my first large walleye so shes going on my wall.

Saturday monring: Fished out from the pump house. Ice was ok at around 8 inches.
We weren't out that far and not close enough to the channel. Ice was bad
where channel started.
A ton of expansion cracks going on and at one point the ice shifted back and forth for a few moments. First time I ever felt that, was kinda scary at first. Marked fish but no bites.

Fished Long Reach Saturday night, few bites, prob perch.

Sunday morning and sunday night fished Long Reach. We moved more towards the island and got a few bites.

The beer was flowing so we still had a good time.
Hope to get up mid Feb if ice is still good.

Have a good one

Tobias

Hey Tobias,

I'm very happy for you to get that wall hanger :D
My Dad and I are waiting to hear some good reports from the Bay before we go up but since you folks were up there for three days and only caught two fish I guess it isn't time to travel North yet.
It's good news on the ice conditions and for the remainder of the week the ice will get better but next week there's a warm up coming so it may begin to go the other way.
The ice fishing at home has been equally as poor. No one really knows the reason why, many speculations, but no "for sure" answers why we aren't catching fish.
Maybe after this extreme cold front finally lifts the fish will begin to cooperate.
Once again, good deal on the 11 pound pickerel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
