Quinte Fishing

Well, with the cold weather I decided to inch my way out onto the channel West of the Deseronto Bridge this morning. There was about 3" of good solid ice, more in some spots. Finally tracked the fish down and got into a good bite from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and picked up 4 fish all around 4 to 5lbs. The ice is really tricky in this area and it must be cold to get out there but it has always been a consistent area.

Lots of ice in Deseronto but the fishing has been spotty to say the least. A lot of big fish were pulled up between 9:00 and 10:30 Saturday morning allover 10 lbs the largest I saw was 13 1/2 lbs. It was like a school passed through and very little was caught the rest of the day. Sunday was brutal , very few fsih were caught.

We're heading there Saturday, Do thinks it's okay towards Sheman's point? Thanks for the report. Always better to keep it safe.

I do not fish in the Sherman's Point area but many posts on here mention Sherman's and all reports ay there is lots of ice...plus 12" in most areas so you should be fine.
