Well me and the usual suspects decided to stray from our usual spots to try the east side of the deseronto bridge today. Hit the ice round 8am...bite was very slow this morning, actually all day...but anything caught was of good size. we didnt get into our first till around 1pm when my brother let out "FISH ON!" and iced a 5.9pounder (weighed on ice, digitally). the next came at 3pm when the GF hit a 4.5pounder and iced it BY HER SELF while we went for coffee!!....then at 6pm my brother silently landed his PB!! a nice ___pounder!!(weight to come, i froze it...fish is 26 3/4", guys on ice estimated 10lbs...any guesses???)......all in all the fishing was spotty all day......ppl caught fish but very speradically, there was an 11pounder and an 8pounder caught but only saw maybe 10 fish iced all day......all nice size tho.....pictures to come tomorrow....forgot the camera in my buddies car!!! @%!@!!!!!!..lol

TIGHT LINES!!

The ice out there is really only about 4-5 inches until u get about half way out....then it starts to get sketchy..........I wouldnt venture too close to the bridge either. Just stay on other peoples tracks and u should be fine. Heard it crackin pretty good so it's makin ice, but the closer u get to that strong current out there the more dangerous it is, I'm not into pullin suicide missions like some of these guys out there today. There was some guys right under the bridge this morn and everyone around us was wondering HOW they hadn't gone through yet, hut and all.

I agree, my dad and I fished out from the park in Deseronto all day Saturday and from 8:30 - 2:30 on Sunday and had only 1 perch to show for it -- we were in the portable hut with the grey/silver tarp.

Saw a few -- about 6 -- fish landed around us, but very sporadic fishing overall. Talked to Lurewasher a couple of times and he was one of the lucky/good ones who got into a few fish -- he landed a nice 12 ponder Sat morning before we got there.

There is about 5 inches of ice out by the green buoy, fished out there Saturday afternoon, not even a nibble.

Lots of guys fishing down by the bridge, but I hear the ice is only about 3 inches and that's just not enough for me to be comfortable -- I hear they're catching fish though.

Wish I had better results to report, but I'll just have to look forward to the opener in May.

Good luck to all, stay safe.

Hey, Biilsfan.

I saw you heading down Green Point road Saunday afternoon. I guess you never had any luck at Deseronto. I went out for the evening fish sunday and got 3 more all around 4 lbs. Went out for one more run Monday morning and caught three more between 3 and 4 lbs. All males.

the count for Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning was 10 fish...not bad but the evenings are certainly a lot tougher. the best bite seems to be between 7:00 and 9:00 am.
