Finally got out for my first time this season. My father-inlaw and I decided to fish the Deseronto bridge. We arrived there about 2pm Sunday afternoon and there was about 12 guys spread out on the ice. As the afternoon wore on more guys showed up and by 4:30 we counted 37 people on the ice. The action was slowat first, with the odd small fish being caught, until just before 5pm. Someone must of rung the dinner bell because alot of fish were caught over the next half hr. I lost 3 but did manage to get a 7.5lber thru the hole. A guy beside me caught an 11lb and the guy next to him lost one at the hole. Talking with folks on the way in and one guy caught an 8lb channel cat. Another guy caught an 11lber and one fellow had his limit in small ones. I also saw a big fish caught in the distance but no ideal how big. It was nice to see alot of the big fish being put back. In terms of bait I was using a small "buck Shot" spoon tipped with a couple of muds. The depth of the area we were in was about 20ft. The ice was slushy in spots on top but underneath there was about 5' of ice most of it black but a bit of it grey. Not great but decent to walk on. Most of us were less than half way across and straight out from the boat launch. I hope other will share some reports.
