Sorry for the lack of postings. I have received a number of PMs now from people wondering if we are still out there. Yes, we are. In fact, as of today it will be 28 days so far in January.

With a busy schedule, little sleep, etc. I just haven't been able to keep up with photos, posting, etc. But in a way, I guess its a good problem.

For those who were asking, there is another video on the way, I just have to finish editing it as well.

Yesterday we received quite a lot of snow, so I myself wasn't even able to put a line down with all of the extra work that needed to be done. When the conditions are like this, everyone has to work together to get out there and back. It will be really tough for the next while, but tough just means that you don't have to wear as many layers or use a heater for the first while. ;)

Here is a picture from two days ago. Good luck and be safe...

Jeff

That's a nice 8 pounder. But come on....as a guide being out 28 days in Jan and you post 1 fish. You must be having trouble getting fish.

Not really. 11lbs is the biggest so far. Lots of 10-10.5lbs, but nothing off the charts. February is the month... ;)

So do I! My goal is a 16. It may take a long time to see it, but that is my target. Do you get down for the hardwater action? And I don't mean busting it with your boat...

hey, thats my goal too!

something about the magic of a 16lbs'er....not many folks have 14's, only a very select few have 15's, to get into that 16 class puts you arm and should above the rest!

i've only seen one 16lbs'er caught by a quinte local, and two 15's also caught by another quinte local. All three were caught through the ice. Also the fellow who has the 2 15's caught an 18 through the ice, kept it for the wall, but the taxidermist had an unfortunate accident. Not even a picture of it! It too was caught through the ice!

So from what i have gathered locally, the biggest pigs are all caught through the ice....keep up the hard work, cause it isn't easy being out 28 days in the month...

Steve

Interesting, he has not posted much THIS year, and the last post had some people from the US catching only Perch.

Show us differently. BTW - For 28 trips, I'm sure you have TONS of pics?

Waiting...........

Brian.

Ok, give a couple of days and I'll post another video. I am not fishing Monday so perhaps I can get it ready and uploaded then.

I'm not saying that every day is a banner day as it is not. There isn't a single person that I am aware of who can produce a limit on every single occasion on the Bay of Quinte. If there is, I would love to book a trip with them myself and learn a few tricks. There are some great anglers out there and I have full respect for them all. Everyone has their own styles, lure and minnow choices, etc. I myself like to keep an open mind to it all, and from each little bit, come up with what gives me the most confidence for a given situation. If you have confidence in your selection, you will fish it properly and produce better results.

This year has had a lot of very tough days, but there is usually still some fish caught. Then you have some banner days where some anglers can't keep them off of their hooks.

As for other guides, I have met most of them that I am aware of and I value their services, and opinions, and think that they are all excellent in what they do. I also have no problem referring people to the others out there as well, and I do regularly.

I'm not here for a competition, but I don't mind posting a few pictures and video either. And I have promised a few people in the video that I will post it up so that they can show their friends.

If you would like to discuss hardwater walleye fishing, feel free to give me a call. I can talk fishing all day long.

Good luck out there. (Today you needed it! It was a tough bite...)

Jeff
