I`ve got a couple hundred bucks to spend on a new rod & reel.

We do alot of trolling cranckbaits and drifting bottom boucers.Mainly in the narrows, around Forrester Island & towards Hay Bay.Do not often use planer boards or dipsy divers.

Any ideas? Please be specific.

Thanks

You didn't mention if you had a preference towards spinning or baitcasting equipment?? If it is just a trolling rod then I would get something in the 7 ft range with a baitcasting reel with a linecounter. The linecounter is a nice feature which enables you to keep track of how far back that last bite came from so you are able to put the bait back in the same zone. Fiberglass rods are popular for this setup as they have lots of give which helps keep pressure on the line. Stiffer rods with less play sometimes allow the crank to pop loose. I don't have any specific suggestions off hand but a good tackle store should help ( not walmart or ctc).
