Hey Gents,

My dad and I hit Quinte East this morning, from 7:00am to 10:30am. Had to leave early enough to catch the Superbowl. Too bad, cause the bite was "ON" where we were. Managed 6 for 11, biggest was probably 5ish and some of the others were in the same range. Hit them on the Northland Fire Eyed Minnow  and Hopkins Smoothie. As you can see in the pics, the Gulp Alive was working well today.

BTW - Those that I have given a Northland Fire Eyed Minnow to, cherish it for life, you"ll never find them again.

Hodgey, great pictures bud!
it may have been an OK day for you but for many of us at times like this with little to no fish being caught, 6 fish would've been a Good day! Great report.

Northland Fire Eyed Minnow ehh :P
where can i get one

Aadil :)

Hey Aadil,

As Grizz mentioned, you can't buy them anymore.

Thanks Grizz, "Triple H" sounds pretty cool. I should call Northland and purchase thier mould, I could make them and sell them.

However, I did manage to purchase their entire warehouse inventory 2 years ago...so I have a bag full of assorted colours. (Likely over 100 still in their package)

Cheers. Hodgey...

Hey Aadil,

Considering I'll NEVER be able to get them again and I plan on fishing Quinte for the next 40 years (I'll be 80)...I just can't part with them.

Sorry Pal.

Cheers. Hodgey...

Hello Hodgey,

Very nice fish you tied into there. You sure know your stuff. You seem to put the time and effort into it, so it's really good to see your success. I enjoy reading your posts, and seeing the pictures as well. The Gulp Alive seems to be working pretty well. I have yet to try them but after seeing more people using them I may just give them a shot. They would probably work pretty well on some speckle lakes in my area where you can't use live minnows.

As for the Fire Eye Minnow, I remember seeing them on shelves years ago and never grabbed any. As they say, hindsight is 20/20. I'll have to keep my eyes open at any garage sales in the future, who knows, stranger things have happened.

Keep up the good work and the great reports.

They appear to be available from the Northland website still.

Look closely at my previous post, I actually showed one still in the pkg. The new one is actually a metal spoon...TOTALLY different bait, trust me

I wish it was them.

Cheers, Hodgey...
