I fish the bay int the summer but this will be my first hardwater trip (supposed to be up jan24th weekend, didnt happen) but i'm coming up this weekend FOR SURE. My question is this, how far does the bay freeze up?? I've heard Huffs Shermans and a few others but does Thompsons freeze up?? Mallory Bay??? Picton bay??? Keith's shoal?? or are all these area's sketchy??
As for this weekend, any tips as to where there biting?? We were going to start a shermans and maybe move up towards Huff's. We scored a friends sled so we are a little more mobile......

RaZoR,

Here is a site to help you determine how much of the bay is frozen.
Sat images are refreshed about every 6-8hrs.

As far as the fish biting-LOL THERE NOT.

I live at the bottom of Bygotes Bay, next to Mallory and my cove has
over 12 inches of black ice and have seen many snow machines running between Trumpour and Le Nid points, some guys have been fishing Bass Cove off and on for over 3 weeks. Have caught 4 walleye most around 3 pounds and 20 or so jumbo perch and a nice northern about 7 pounds, released the walleye and northern, kept the perch for a feed.
