Hey Mike I picked up a St.Croix ice rod 2 years ago off of Stacy Ash who runs Pro tackle: 613-473-2988.I don't know if he still deals with ice rods, they look a light for hogs, but they work you can feel every little hit.Brought up a few hogs with mine.

Hey Marty,

I wish I was having that problem. To be honest, my fishing rod hasnt felt a Walleye as of yet in 8 outings this year. Hopefully changing that this weekend, going out with Jeff C on Sunday.

Mike, my old rod which I have used faithfully for many years is a 36 inch Mitchell. It's called a Bush-N-Rod , the length is perfect and the action is great for our big BOQ hogs. Much better rod the The HT series which I also own. Out of the 4 rods I own for the hardwater I always use the Mitchell. Hope this helps you out.

I personally like the st. croix rods (with Okuma stinson reels), I have around 16 of them and they have never failed me.

I use a medium or medium light for walleye.

I have a StCroix also but my favourite for all species is an Ugly Stick
Ice Rig very sensitive and is tough enough for anything I have caught
through the ice, very good on the light bite, I also have the pac rod
and it is also very good. I bought the Ugly stik at Bishops Lake
tackle store around Northbrook.
