myself and my fishin partner got hassaled at the border,took all the gear out of my bravada ,searched everyrthing,found nothin even went as far as takin the travel cover off my ice auger??they sure do love there job at the border.got to deseronto around 11,then to moons for bait. 4 $ adozen and new and more expensive license.80$ ,aftersome plesantries off to northport we go!!!fished just east of red bouy,no eyes .off the ice @6:15.saturday mornin fished in and around forrester island.drilled 20 holes ice was from5in to 8in. 22-18fow.started fishin @630am off the ice @630pm.1 small eye between 2 of us and it wasnt mine,fished sunday mornin east of the island from 630 to 11am.no eyes.20fow .all 3 days marked fish on my vex but where perch.this is a partial list of what was used this weekend.gold sidewinder,green sidewinder,gold,red blue green orange kastmaster,blue green orange jiggin raps.goin to try again at the end of the month, any thoughts, ideas,sugestions, destinations,or laughs would be appreciated.and so long 4 now;john

Which border crossing? I'm coming through Detroit in two weeks, and we've never had those issues the last four years. By the way, do Americans need a a passport? I thought just a birth certificate worked for travelers by vehicle. I know it is different if coming by air.

Thanks. I missed that card requirement when I was looking at license fees. Really making it expensive to come up to fish for 1 day.

we got stop at the 1000 island bridge.been goin to canada couple times a year since 9-11.seems to increase every year,payin duty,gettin vehicle check.i understand they are doin a job BUT.DO FISHERMAN REALLY SMUGGLE THAT MANY TERRORISTS ,DRUGS ,GUNS,ECT??as for a passport i wont go to canada w/o,dont need the hassle and so long 4 now;john
