Quinte Fishing

Hit the ice at the boat launch tonight. Fished from 3:00 - 5:45. Caught 12 perch & the little pests bit fairly steady. The ice surprised me. It had tightened up a bit over night. No spider cracks this time. Fairly mild out as my fishing hole wasn't icing up at all. There was a bit of water here & there on top of the ice. Hardly anybody fishing. Couple guys had ATV's out & a skidoo was flying along over near the south shore. Starting to look like the ice is gonna survive this warm spell. Hopefully tomorrows rain will not amount to much. I noticed there seemed to be some serious current in between 4 & 5 o'clock heading west.

That was me out on the sled over along the south shore. I was also quite suprised how well the ice had firmed up. I fished 2 holes from the night before and they had about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of new ice in them.
Had a few hits but only a small perch to show for it.
Will try again tonight. Sure was a nice evening to be out though.
