Picked up the boat from the shop today and we're looking good for May 3rd. The boats' been vacuumed and repacked and waiting for an April 26th trial run.

Hay Bay is FREE of ice and there's not snow in the bush, didn't get a chance to check out the water level.

Stopped by Springside Park in Napanee (had the fries from the chip truck - Hmmmmmmmm chips) and took a look at the Falls, there's a good flow of water for the spawn. We didn't see any sign of any walleyes, no tails in the back currents or fish threatening each other. I forgot my thermometer at home so I was unable to get the water temp. That would be a big clue for the spawn.

Stay Tuned back out next week for the boat trial- perhaps a lure trolled behind the boat. Will launch at Bath and give the North Channel a shot to the generating station.

Was wondering if you got to the station and tried the fishing, I'm not sure if they are using it or not? If they were would there not be some browns, steelhead and the odd chinook around? Fished out of Kincardine several years ago in front of Bruce at this time of year and fishing was unbelievably good. Mind you a nucluer plant might be heating water more, not sure. My boat is 23ft with cuddy so probably can't put in west of Bath was wondering if Marina would let me put in there would like to try planer boards and riggers see if anything is there, I don't think it gets fished very often. Appreciate if you let me know your thoughts on this have fished lots of times and did nothing so not worried about time spent trying.

Traveller,

The L&A Station is in full production, there's a stream of warm water flowing.

Don't know if we'll make it that far- from the launch ramp at Bath.

If you've got a 23 footer you'll have no trouble launching Bath. There is a launch ramp at the east shore at the ferry terminal, that would be further from the Power station than from Bath - just checked the topos' and from a quick measure, Bath is approx 5 miles from L&A Station, while the ferry terminal is about 12 miles

Ours is a shake-down run to insure all is working on the boat. If the weather is doubtful, we aren't going on SAt PM.

I suspect your talking about he Glenora Ferry terminal which is a fair drive by boat. I think I could put in just east of Bath at the Marina, but will give them a call before I go. I like to give it a try, like you want to get the cob webs out before Saturday the 3rd. Will post if anything happens I know the fishing is different than Kincardine, but we go to a Salmon tournament up there every year holicay weekend in May when the Bruce was running it would remind you of the old days at Quinte where you could almost walk across the lake on boats their were so many. They still catch Salmon at this time of year but boats are spaced out a lot more. If I get a nice day next week will give it a try and post results.
