Now, now, we know that violence is not the answer. I'm sure all sport fisherman are seething over this continued abuse of the spawning walleye. I, for one, would be hard pressed not to push a few of these goofballs in the drink.
On the otherhand wondering if we couldn't exploit the existing law as if pertains to use of the resource. Is it not illegal for anyone, including Native peoples to willfully let these fish go to waste. Judging by fishnut's findings (and major kudos to you fishnut for your passion on bringing awareness to this matter), there is major waste of fish. And why does anyone continue to harvest these huge spawning females that have no table value at all boggles my mind. Anyways, it's great to see some very active fisherman (including myself) making the press aware of the abuse and we should be dropping by our local MNR offices voicing our extreme displeasure at the poaching by those who don't have a legal right to the fish at this time of year. Keep up the great work.

The type of thinking that is beginning to be expressed in this thread is on the right track. Make the system and the region work for you.....this can be done. Good post Weedman.
