I will be out as well. Either in a boat, or on ice, or maybe some of both!

I don't think it was me. I was in a boat maybe a day or so before, but not the same day. I will be out on the ice the first day it is safe enough though!

There is only one icefishing prediction you can count on. Mine.

This is it.

Watch closely for when I head back to work after Christmas, and you will ensure yourself great success. Make no mistake, the fishing will be spot on excellent. This has been a telltale but quiet secret.

That is my prediction ..... and key ...... to your ....... icefishing success.

If I am correct, it was December 22nd last year and December 7th the year prior. I don't want to talk about the year prior to that as it was way too late! lol

Who knows what will happen this year. Some people in northern Wisconsin already have ice. They are making me jealous!

What is the water temperature now? I thought I read around 43 degrees. Should still be awhile yet, Hoping to get out in the boat around xmas and early January.

Yah, that was us... Ughh!!

It was the day we got iced in at the Glenora Launch by the Essroc, what a day from HELL!! Although we did catch fish....after we got out we went over to the Shermans launch and walked out on 3" of ice and fished for 2 hours....with no luck. It was all ice fishing from then on....BTW - That was the 2nd or 3rd week of Dec last year.

I'm good either way, Ice or Boat....however, we're hoping the transition period is a quick one.

Cheers, Hodgey...

That's just it. Hi hope it either stays open or freezes hard and thick. The inbetween is not fun. Getting up each morning and going down to the bay with a spud in hand, just to end up going back home because the ice just isn't ready yet is quite frustrating. But, we have to play with the cards that we are dealt.
