I just drove up from NY today..... saw alot of ice. didnt check it out but i will check a few spots tomarrow. what i will tell you is when i came across the sky bridge in deseronto i saw a ice shake out there and a guy sitting in a chair jigging away.. normally thats less than safe ice this time of the year so that tells me there has got to be some good safe ice out there in the slack water areas for sure.......... I cant reccomend a place right now because i havent checkd for myself but with this cold..... hell there is places that are fishable for sure. good luck. be safe leave the atv at home .. grizz

Hi Dutchie,
I have been out and honestly I would not suggest to anyone to go out on the ice yet as I don't want to be responsible for any one getting hurt. However there should be 4-5 inches of ice in most of the area's that freeze up first. Just be careful out there. Take a spud and make sure you use it when walking out there.
Good luck.
Sheldon

I saw a Complete IDIOT out in the mouth of the Trent yesterday. I refer to an idiot like that as a statistic. The moron even had a portable shack. I am certain it was open water on Friday.........unreal
