Thoughts on using "old school" Mr. Twister soft bodied jigs on the hardwater??? Pimples, Mr. Champs... Kastmaster.... the usual suspects rock but is there a chance with a soft body jig presentation through the ice?

I had some success with them on the ice on Nip, but didn't know if the limited results were the lure, the technique of the fisherman, the location, or a combination...

I value and respect other's opinions and experiences on the topic... "knowledge is power"

good question. let us know how you made out lol .......... funny last year a bunch of guys used the gulp alive boasted it. bragged about it, this year I dont believe ive seen one post made about using gulp alive lol funny when you mention old school....... years back I talked to an old timer and he told me of days long ago with the bay had shacks all over it not much different than you would see on that show (Grumpy old men) anyways he said all they ever used was the white Buck Tail Jig tipped with a minnow all the years ive read this board ive never seen a post with someone using that as a go too! I do believe its all in the comfidance one gains by using a certin lure..... you have confidance you will use it more and more. and its natural if you use one lure 95% of the time your gonna catch 95% of the fish on that lure and it becomes yer go too lure, maybe that would be true with the Mr Twister. personally Ive always felt that the lure calls the fish and the minnow makes them bite.

Thanks Grizz.... your wisdom and opinions are much appreciated. When I get back from my trip Feb 21 I'll be sure to post a summary of how things went.. Next year I plan on getting out more than just one weekend... I hate it when life gets in the way of fishing and hunting.... Cheers and all the best to you... I'm going to try the Ol Mr. Twisters one afternoon when I go out on the Bay.... there's always a chance for a nice eye... as long as the line is in the water....

Thanks again.... Ian
:)
