Spent the weekend at Blakewood Lodge with the boys. There were forty guys in total. Friday evening KKing, BPuffer and I started out in the east end of Hay Bay drifting worms in 8 - 10 ft (known as the level or flats), picked up a 12" pick and a small pike. Both were released.

As it was getting dark we moved down to Glenora. We started trolling in 20 - 30ft with HJ's, and BPuffer picked up a 20" eye. (released) Nothing was happening for the next hour or so (other than rain  ) until BPisser arrived at 11:00PM. He had been fishing Telegraph Narrow earlier in the evening where he had picked up three fish (16", 20", 23" all released).

BPisser showed us his honey hole :P in 5 - 8 ft , he picked up three picks in the next 45 minutes. I also landed a 21" and had two other misses :D . (all released) All fish on a blue/silver Husky Jerk.

By 12:30AM we were wet and tired and my rods were all tangled  so we headed back to Blakewood. BPisser (an ironman) stayed and continued fishing until who know's. With no moon the run took a lot longer than it should have. Had a pop and went to bed.

Saturday morning I went out with NFMF Flanagan to the east end of Hay Bay and of course caught nothing.

After breakfast, KKing and I headed back to Glenora, to BPisser's honey hole. My first cast in 10FT of water I hooked a lost a pick. (I need to sharppen my hooks) I little while latter I tied into a 7LB pike which was fun. :D I was throwing the blue/silver Husky Jerk.

On the way back to Hay Bay at lunch, KKing and I had the good fortune to run into Super Dad and Super Mom :?: Super Dad told us where the action was and gave us a couple of his secret lures that had been working.

KKing and I had lunch and a couple of pops and headed over to Super Dads hot spot with BPuffer. KKing finally got the monkey off his back by landing a 20" pick. (released) BPuffer also caught a 18" (kepted) and I slammed into about 25 small perch. The wind and rain really picked up, so we got off the water about 5:00PM.

Had a roast beef dinner and pops :D , the rain picked up, had more pops :? , it got real cold, had more pops, the wind howled, had more pops, deep fried a turkey, had more pops, deep fried three chickens, more pops  ..... bed.

Woke up Sunday, it was freezing and windy. had breakfast and hit the road.

Thanks again to Super Dad, the information and lure sharing was utmost appreciated. This was my first trip to the BOQ in the spring in several years and was really enjoyed. I usually only fish Quinte in November and
December.

Slopman.

A fine report, I was going to post my report for Brighton Bay but the wind on Sunday kept me on shore the whole day, I put away the boat and fishing gear and went golfing. They are catching a few in Brighton too...

Slopman,

Nice to meet you and chat, always like to help others, Glad you got those lures to pay off. The Uzick Spinner rules.....

I saw the gang of people on Friday night at Blakewoods as I was fishing the west wind and went past and saw the trucks and people.

That's quite a run from Blakewoods to Glenora, I think you might not have to travel quite as far, there's a lot of spots in Hay Bay, especially towards the mouth at Long Reach.

There are some other weedbeds that produce all summer.

Drop us a line when you're coming down in the fall.

Tight Lines

Nice report Slopman,

Too bad about the weather but it sounds like you made the best of it. A few fish, a few pops, and some good food always makes for a good weekend. :D :!:
