Took my friend's two boys out to the Bay for some fishing Tuesday evening. Launched at McFarland Conversation area (not a bad ramp), and ran up to north side of Thompson's Point. Started working 30 - 40 ft. depths between south tip of Hay Bay and yellow pencil marker. Boated 6 eyes for the evening on various spinner rigs. All below the slot though, 12 - 18". Kept 3 larger ones for the pan, released the other 3. Not bad for a few hours work. Want to say thank you to Kevin at Merland Park for the report b4 heading out.
Noticed other boats working shallower along the south shoreline in 15 - 20 ft. depths were boating some fish. Saw one nice 'eye well over the slot taken. Lots of marks in there. Not sure what the one boat was using, but they were trolling behind a big noisy merc and pulling in fish after fish. Wonder if they were dragging those Uzicks. Just didn't get enuff time to pick some up. Curious to know why all the resorts and camps aren't carrying these hot lures. Are they custom made? Our fish came on fluor. orange and chartreuse Black Fury and Loon spinners, tipped with worms.
Cheers,
