I wanted to let everyone know about a hatchey just 3 hrs from Quinte. I go almost every year and it is something well worth seeing at least once. If you wanted to make a day out of it, the carousel mall and gander mountain are in the area. You will see so many hatchery walleye as well as natural reproducing fish in the stream. Here is a lil info http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/21666.html If ya want to make a day out of it with the family or boys and have any questions post them

Very cool. You posted a video last year that was really neat as well. Thanks for sharing.

Hey LandShark,

The MNRs Harwood fish hatchery is just north of Cobourg. In the past I have taken serval tours throught the Bring Back the Salmon classroom hatchery program. They have a self guided visitor's area and a balcony type viewing platform of the operation. They raise Walleye, Atlantic Salmon, and many different species for Ontario each year depending on needs. You should check it out sometime. I will be sure to check out the NY operation if I am in that neck of the woods. Thanks for the info.

I know the fish are spawning or grouping up pretty well here now. Lots of blood behind the Cabaret already...... they should be made to clean that up because old people and kids walk down that trail............. I saw a female around 10-12 lbs this morning being chased by 4-5 males.
