I was just thinking that a good idea,to help out at the ramps, for opening week-end,would for our Mayor,to contact the Mayor in Montreal, and close the DAM .Dams, down there,so we can get our water levels, back up,because the ramp thing, ain,t going to happen, unless there,s a miracle or something????

I think some of you might remember the really low water levels we had a few summers back. I certainly do, as I took out my bottom end runnin through an area that I had run for many years without trouble. I think that year the spring levels were a touch low but nothing compared to how low the level is now. I cant imagine how low the levels are going to go this year. I certainly wont be cutting through foresters Is this year.

...and not to forget all the spawning gravel beds which are now dry ground in many places. Same goes for a section of the Trent river right now below Batawa.

I was talking with a friend who's buddy lives down the st lawrence at the dam. I think its located in the Prescott area. Buddy tells him the dam is wide open because they are topping up the shipping lane levels. Once that is done, they will start holding back water. Speculation was another week or two. Apparently, alot of concerened waterfront businesses located between here down to the dam have started complaining

Thanks for the link Landshark. Interesting info on that post.

Here is a link from post that shows the projected water levels for the rest of the year. Very interesting.

This article was in the Kingston Whig Standard and the Brockviller Recorder today. It sure doesn't look like any help is forth coming unless we get a couple Monsoon's in the next month.

Thanks for the posts guys, some interesting reading for sure. Guess we are going to need some luck in the next few weeks. Some of the ramps are going to be virtually unusable which will make for a rather large traffic jam on May 1st...
