Showed up with my younger bros to a local launch at 5am on Saturday, lots of traffic made for a bit of a weigh, finally got launched at 6...... Go to start my bros' motor and gas leaking from the gas line........ had to wait till 8 to get one at Canadian tire... back to to launch and out trolling by 9 in 19-20 fow fished that depth and caught 3 2lbers one on erie dearie and 2 on crank baits all with planer boards. Quick storm kept us off the water for an hour or so, was still quite windy though so we decided to head up the river in search of Pike. Lots of snot rockets hitting our blue fox vibrax #4s. Winds calmed down and we decided to troll the evening bite in the same depth as trhe morning and picked up 3 more smaller fish, 1 on erie dearie and 2 on td-9s. Was a good day considering the start we had.
Got back out for Sunday morning at around 6am and headed right back to the same area we had luck the morning and evening before. Slow for the first 2 hours then my younger brothers planer board jolted really quickly to middle of the bolt, I knew it was a decent fish right away, after about a 5 minutes fight, we landed a 8 lb walleye on a td-9. Picked up a couple smaller fish on spinners, few pike on the td-9 all around 4-5 lbs. Kept trolling but changed to 17 fow mid day and I decided to pull out my reef runner , at around 2pm that board rips to the middle, right away I was so hyped thinking this is going to be over 10 lbs, land it 5 minutes later and suprised that its a short fat fish...... weighed in just over 7lbs. That was the last fish of the weekend but we had an incredible time and one of our best openers for quality and quanity!!!! Heres pics of the walleye I caught and a couple Pike my bros Andy caught, I will post the pics of his walleye when I get them from my buddy.
