So I remember trout fishing as a kid and catching lake and rainbow trout but forget alot of the important details like types of lures, trolling speed, etc.
Just recently I did an ice off lake trout fish (on a lake open all year round, of course) and a splake fish on a different lake. If I get skunked one more time I swear I will hit the grocery store on the way home and buy some fillets so I can taste some trout.
I read troll SLOWLY (it's all over the internet), 2 people I have talked to say fast for lakers and even faster for splake. They both say go as fast a you can before the minnnow falls off. Maybe 3-4 mph. Another guy told me that he fishes with downriggers and speeds up until the steel cables start to sing in the water and slows down a bit.
Any tips? info? I heard there are some lunkers in L'Amable. I might try it next. I usually spoons, some xmas trees, all with minnows of course too.
