Few questions guys. First of all how many colours do you usually use. Second how are you attaching your leadcore to your mono or braid

thanks!

I use a mono backing and a Fluro lead. Some have a hard time with this but I tie uni knots from both. I usually run 3-5 color's out right now depending on what and where I am fishing for. Hope this helps.

Matt,

Use as many colours as you need to get to your target depth. Sink rate is basically 5' per colour at about 1.5 mph. Leadcore is very speed sensitive. It rises dramatically with speed.

As for knots they are very simple once someone shows you. Here is youtube video of the knot I use. It is strong and passes through the eyes real easy.

You can use this to attach the braid backing to, but because the braid is limp, it is really hard to insert into the leadcore. If you "paint" the braid with nailpolish it makes it stiffer and is easier to work with, or just pull back the dacron remove a piece of the lead and use a uni to uni knot.

see www.animatedknots.com for a uni to uni knot.

come on scott if you give the braid viagra, it works better than painting it .  ; i generally just run 2 colours , and if you wanna go deep and there is lots of boat traffic (cant run 200 ') try a snap weight as well. i use this with 2 colours trolling the chutes at the bruce nuclear, some nights there are more boats than fish :)
