rice lake was not to good for walleye this year and they will be extremely hard to get in the summer. if i had to fish forthem i would try jigs on the mouth of otobonee river and on the indian river. personally durning that time of year i would go down there to do some bass fishing. heading down tommorrow to fish for some bass.

It has been many years since I visisited Rice Lake but we always use to
catch our share of walleye, fishing S7 rapalas with a small split shot about
2 ft up from the bait. Traditional minnow patterns worked the best as did
the orange. Good Luck, post your results!

Get yourself a few perch pattern banana head style bucktail jigs, find a weedline and start rip jigging. Probably the easiest way to get a reaction bite from Kawartha walleyes....if they cooperate

Hi,
Was camping at Serpent Mounds for the past four days. Went out fishing everyday - here's what I found.

MILLFOIL!! Rice has exploded with weed growth. From Serpent Mounds to Sugar Island and across to other side almost solid weeds. I found best bass action directly infront of Indian River inlet, almost in middle of lake where weed edge thins out in 9' of water. Tried to flip the pockets, but all Bass came on white terminator spinner bait. Lots of guys jigging out there for walleyes too. Only saw a coulple eyes boated - one about 3 lbs.
