Hey guys, I really hope Matt doesn't mind me posting this but one of our newer members here Matt Clapp unfortunately had his father pass away this morning. I knew Matt's father Bob very well, He was a great guy who I had the privilege of working with and being friends with. Bob was a retired constable with the OPP and Largely responsible for the success of the now dead Annual Walleye series that took place in Napanee every year up unitl a few years ago.

It's very sad news for anyone that knew Bob, and my condolences and prayers go out to your family Matt. Truly been a tragic weekend for Napanee. You're Dad will be truly missed.

Matt,
Very sorry to hear of your Dads passing. I know he and you have fished the Quinte Fishing Series tournaments over the past years, he was a great Angler. Your Dad will really be missed. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

To the Clapp family, especially Matt, Ben and James, I send my and the Series' best wishes and prayers at this sad time. Bob and I met years ago and got to know each other better after a summer or two with the old Chevy/Mercury Pro Bass. I was tournament director for the two day series and Bob was brought in to tournament direct the new "one day" circuit that was started. We used to compare notes and he would ask my opinion on rulings and situations that came up as I had been doing it for a few years at that time. Since he started to work for "the Board", we see each other periodically or drop an email to each other to keep ontop of things. He loved his fishing and was so happy when the "new boat" came along a couple of years ago and that he would be able to enjoy some quality time with his sons. On behalf of Margo and myself and all the anglers of the Quinte Fishing Series, we send our condolences and leave you with a prayer from me to you:
I ask dear Lord that you will give this family peace of mind in their sorrow, comfort in their grief and strength to carry on when they feel overwhelmed. May they know that they are not alone to face this sadness - that you will walk with them and family and friends will try to lighten their load and brighten their days in the weeks and months ahead. And finally Lord, we ask you to be with us and our families wherever they may be. Give us love, wisdom and patience and help us to understand more clearly. We ask you to watch over us in our work and in our play and always make us mindful of the needs of others and give us always thankful hearts, We ask this in your name, Amen

Thanks for the support and condolences. It is very nice to be a part of such a wonderful community. Dad was never more proud to be an angler on the Quinte. He was a firm believer in the true greatness of our fishery and loved to tell everyone about. Over the past few days I was even able to find photographic evidence that my dad actually did catch some nice fish out on the water and wasn't just out for a cruise in the boat. Kidding aside, he loved to fish, talk about fishing and get others into fishing. Your support and kind words mean a great deal to me and my family.
Hope to see you on the Water.

Ben Clapp
