My Dad and I fished on Saturday and my wife joined us on Sunday. The wind blew strong on Saturday and we headed for the lee of the south shore of Hay Bay, trolling in the shallows. We had hit a couple of 12 inchers and just past the Old Church, RedCapBert had a fish on. The 21 inch walleye was netted and we called it a day.

Sunday, the three of us headed for Mallory Bay and we fished hard and were able to land an 17.5", an 18.5" and a 20 incher. Real nice fish.

On Monday, HayBay Larry and myself headed to the North Channel to see if we could downrig some trout over there. A beautiful day and a joy to be on the water, BUT we drew the skunk as we couldn't entice anyting into a strike. That's fishing........

Tuesday, Laker John came out to fish and HayBay Larry joined us and we headed back to Mallory Bay. Within five minutes of letting his line out, Laker John christened his new rod and reel. That was good start. we made several passes and were wondering if that first fish coming so quickly was an omen for the rest of the day!!!!!!!

On the next trolling pass, my rod was grabbed like a giant bunch of weeds had collected on the lure. As I was bringing the line in, the deep pull of the rod turned into a throb and thumping - guess I've got a fish on!!! It sure was. This fish was just a shade over 25 inches, but the scale showed a different picture - the Rapala scale bottomed out at 8 lbs....... A quick photo and back into the water

The trolling continued and the fish continued to take the Uzick spinners. We called it a day ay 1300 and ehaded back to the dock. The total for the day was 15 walleyes. Fish were retained for the table.

Here's the pix of the happy fishers.

From the various reports that I have heard about and from our last couple days of fishing, the walleyes appear to be ON.....

Won't be back to fish Quinte as a trip to the Miramichi is set for mid Sept - details to follow.

Nice to see the fish have turned back on! I haven't fished in over a week except for an hour or so. Had my boat in to get the trolling motor repaired and going to pick it up tomorrow and get back on the water.
