Had a camp derby today, some fish caught, no limits though. My Dad got one in our boat, just under 20 inches. We tried to get out of the wind but no luck there! I had my Dad who because of strokes a while ago has poor balance and can't move around in the boat, my Mom who has not fished since 15 so really her first time and 50 km gusts!! Needless to say I was off the water at 9:30 :)

Part of this derby is a memorial for Brenda Porteous, the first female Legend of Prefect Vue. The deal is the woman with the biggest fish wins a plaque and a cash prize. This year no women caught fish so we will have to wait until next year for the plaque to be awarded again.

6lbs 6oz won the derby with 2 fish...good job Boris!

Wow, it must have been next to impossible to have any boat control.
Good job though getting mom and dad out for atleast a quick fish.
Hopefully you can get them back out on a calmer day and into a bunch of fish.
Looking out over the bay right now I can't even imagine trying to get out.

I know West Lake was a mess. We had a tree come down in the park, then a big maple came down right across the rd it closed the rd for about an hour and took power out for about 7 hours. Crazy.

Couldn't imagine fishing on the Bay. Prince Edward Pt Weather buoy was showing waves over 11ft!!! I know what its like in the big lake when the weather buoy says 4ft waves they feel like 10 footers. Can't imagine being out there in legit 11+'ers.

Good work on getting out there and getting a fish.

Scott

Saturday was probably the roughest I've ever seen Hay Bay in front of Bayview Resort - Just wild.

We had a dock flip and the boat attached was filled with water - a 20 foot Sylvan - it was ugly.

Cheers
