Another dream trip to Hay Bay. Only had one bad day and that was due to motor failure. Quick trip back to Pa and back for another boat/motor and the fishing made it all worth while. All the typical hotspots were hot. Sherman's point, Thompson's, Hay Bay Church, Mallory Bay.
This was my 20th year at Hay Bay and on this trip we caught HUGE perch for the first time. We had several in the 12 inch class. All big ones were caught in Mallory Bay. All on the Chartreuse spinner/worm combo while trying for wallys. Saturday was the toughest day up until about 3pm. It was glassy calm and only a few very small ones were caught. The wind came up at 3pm and not a boat in sight(at Shermans pt). Instant success with six beauties between 18 and 19 inches to take home and two just over 19, released. My new partner, at Hay Bay the first time, thought he died and made it to heaven. Met a lot of great friends and some fantastic new people on the water and around town. Love your area ! John Uzick

Yes, John the fishing is terrific and it was nice to drop by and see you and spend some time chewing the fat.

I hope you have solved or will have solved your motor problem, I know it caused a loss of fishing time but the end was worth the extra trip.

Here's one of the shots taken last Wed.

Tight Lines - Maybe you can squeeze a visit in the fall before deer season and Thanksgiving.
