I am looking for a gun more suitable for hunting coyotes other then my .270. Looking to spend from $400-$600 max.

just wondering what you would like best for coyote hunting ? and or your reasons ? Ive used 22 mags. and 22-250 on yote... hunted with a friend who ran right out and bough at 17 when they first came out. all three did the job………. 22-250 reached out further but just like the 17 one blade of grass it never reached its target, the 22 mag was great out to 200 yards...……. 222, 243. 270 just cost more to shoot.... if your selling pelts lighter ammo does less damage , do you have a real preference?

I use 100 grain bullets in my. 270 for coyote, but it sounds like you just need another gun. Can never have too many can you?

I find the .270 is a little heavy for my area. It tends to scare the crap out of the dog walkers, I have had the police here before because we shoot a gun off. I tell them I am in my right and go tell the complainers if they don't like it they can move. They haven't been back. I am shooting through some brush sometimes so the smaller bore might not be ideal but not a deal breaker, .223, 22 -250 I am no expert, I just like to go for a little hunt once in a while and thin the pack out a bit.

haha like Dave said you can never have enough guns lol ……. to cut down on noise id defiantly go with a 22 mag... the 22-250 is a barker lots of powder with a pill that is exact size as a 22 round... but man is it ever a flat shooter great if you like long shots or covering huge fields 400 yards is reality... I have dropped many yotes with my bolt action 22mag straight on in the chest at 200 yards and watch them drop like a stone always shoot the CCI maxi mag IV rounds believe it or not I also find the 22 mag the most forgiving when it come to a little brush compared to a flat shooting 22-250 or the 17 they vaporize on a twig or stout blade of grass good luck in your search, and happy hunting.
