Quinte Fishing

Just a shot in the dark but looking for a cottage rental for the family on Charleston Lake for the week of Aug 6 to 13th I've gone to many cottage rental websites and it seems either it's not pet friendly or it's booked for that particular week.

Looks like I found one for the family for the week. Lots of good bass fishing right off the dock for the kids , bringing up the angling kayaks so hope to be living on the water rather than the cottage lol Any charleston lake advice for my future outing I'm open too 

Jerkbaits, topwater and tubes, senko's will get you great results there. One of my favourite lakes to fish by far. Where about's on the lake are you staying do you know?

Thanks for the lures advice, yes I'm staying at a cottage in Loon Bay (part of Charleston) I'll be defiantly doing some fishing research for the area as I want to make the most of my time off with he family

i know charleston very well, there is a lake off of charleston, (i cant think of the name at the moment), but you can portage too it, its not a easy portage but well worth it, the lake you get too is great for bass. i take a different apporach to fishing it, i trow only crankbaits, of vairous depths, and jigs, my dad lives on the lake, so i fish it a ton, i fish the outlet end of the lake.

I'd be interested in knowing the name of the lake you speak of !

he might be right, i cant think of it, i fish upper beverly and newboro alot as well, and they all have a ton of lakes that you can only get too by portaging from, we often bring a cannoe on the front of my bass boat.

if your cottage rental is in loon bay you will have quite a paddle to get to the redhorse portage better plan on making a day of it if you do
another option for you is the bottom end of runnings bay where the provincial park is located is closed to motor boat traffic so I would believe the fishing pressure might be a little lighter in there
on the way down runnings there is slim bay which is also closed to motor traffic

Thanks for the info . Yes the cottage is located right in loon bay, loon island isright across fom the dock, I hear the bass fishing is good right in that area
