The coyote who forgot to duck

Here's a different way to get a coyote's attention. I had an old duck call that sounded terrible so I tuned it (much to the pleasure of my wife) to make it sound like a rabbit call. I figured if I had a "duck" call, I should take my spinny duck decoy. I set the duck out in the field and turned him on. I got set and started calling. Ten minutes later this guy was standing on the edge of the field at 125 yards staring at the stupid duck trying to land in the middle of the field in January. That was his last mistake as the .270 took care of the rest.

Thanks Dave, sure helps cure cabin fever. Nice animal, although I am mainly a moose hunter, the
270 has always been my favorite, and go to caliber. Congradulations and keep nocking them puppies

Yeah, they are becoming a real nuisance around my place. One grabbed our dog off the front lawn last summer and my wife scared it off, we lost a few chickens and the farmer down the road has lost a bunch of sheep so far. He said they are coming right into the barn the last few days. I took a walk and couldn't find any rabbit or grouse tracks anywhere around. There are large areas where the snow is packed down from the coyotes. I'm not sure how many there is, but it must be a bunch of them around.

That's the best kind of coyote, a dead one, nice shot. We had 3 in our yard after our beagle this past fall. My .270's bark is way worse then their bite too.
