No birds for me opening day. The woods near Parham were dead quiet, not a gobble to be heard except for eldon's tame birds. After two setups and nothing doing at abot 10:30 I decided to streach my legs and do a little poking around. Slipping through the woods and all of the sudden there is deer sign everywhere. Find an area about the size of a truck with several large piles of droppings ranging from very old to very fresh. Then about 30 yards away I find something I will be thinking about until fall.

Then I moving around looking for the other shed and taking in all the deer sign. Next thing I know I catch myself checking the wind
. Ok enough of that, back to the birds.
Hopefully they will turn on with some warmer weather. Weird but it's always like that hunting turkeys up there. They gobble like heck until the week before the season, then shut down. Then second week of may the woods are on fire with gobbles.
