Hello, my father and i are planning a bear hunt in the quinte area this october.
I'm looking for info and help as i have never hunted black bear this close to home. I have scouted the crown land up Madoc way and i have found numerous tracks and evidence. Only I kept running into peoples camps that were tucked deep in the bush. I dont want to upset anyone if i run into them while hunting. Any advice?
Also, i'm curious if any land owners are looking for someone to clear known bears come this season. I'm not looking for an "easy" hunt, just looking to help out with the growing bear problems in the area of late.

Not much crown around/ near madoc so maybe you are talking about CA land and yes there are a number of camps bordering the CA lands. Also I believe most if not all the CA lands around madoc are posted - hunting by permit only. So a permit from quinte conservation area would be needed.Hope this helps in your bear venture.
