So a buddy of mine from work was Bow hunting near Stirling.

Well he brought in photos of something he seen!

Hey I find it hard to believe. I did see the photos on his Camera.

One big ass ELK !

How for south have you seen them?????

Yup the locals have seen him numerous times.

2 years ago we saw a 5X5 that was hanging around the field east of the Frontenac Rifle and Pistol Club on Mcadoo's Lane in Kingston, between the club and Montreal street. Just a few hundred yards north of the 401.

Cool. You should see if you can post his pics. My sister has pics of a big bull and a few cows for years now right on the east side of Madoc. I'll see if she'll send them to me.

Furthest south I have heard of them is on Casey Road just north of Belleville.

Someone posted a pic of an elk on the weather network a while back and the caption read "stirling". Just a little further and they will be in my back yard. Next stop the freezer!

I've seen this one and a number of others. As of last winter, then Kingston Area MNR had reports of 4 different elk in the area. I personally saw a cow while out turkey hunting.

Looks like we need to thank our local farmers for supporting or habits :lol:

Lets hope they do as well as the turkeys did. I'm going to need a bigger freezer!

I believe it was about 10 years ago that a rogue bull elk made a quick pass thru Prince Edward County. My dad and several other locals saw the elk. I got called in to see where he went to. The elk was headed straight to Lake Ontario, crossed over the Hyckes Point road to Lake O for a drink. I then tracked it 4 miles north into Hillier Township just west of the Village of Hillier where it swam across Pleasant Bay. That's where I gave up the pursuit.

A couple of times while tracking the elk I noticed several coyote tracks in the elk prints in the mud in the low swamp areas. I can tell you that these animals can cover a great distance in a very short time.
