I saw this thread on another site and thought it would be fun to hear what everyone around here has tried. Here is my list .

I might have to edit this as I remember , but here goes.

Grouse, Dove , Quail , Ducks , Geese , Turkey , Rabbit , Woodcock , Pheasant , Frog legs , Gator , Wild Boar , Seal , Whale , Turtle, Caribou , Moose , Buffalo , Mule Deer , Whitetail Deer , Elk , Bear also have had Shark and Horse.
Almost forgot when I was in Africa I had Wilderbeast , Kudu , and Water Buck.

Not in the way I like to eat them just as I remembered them .

Great idea, let's see...

Hooved: Moose, Whitetail, mule deer, cariboo, buffalo, wild boar, fallow deer, muntjac
Feathered:Turkey, Canada goose, ducks, pigeon, dove, spruce/sharptail/ruffed grouse, timberdoodle, pheasant
Pawed: black bear, squirrel, snowshoe/jack/cottontail rabbit
Other: whole frog (double dog dared and there might have been whiskey involved  ), mud bugs, freshwater clams, gator

It would be interesting to hear the stories behind some of the more exotic ones.

Great foods

I've had most of the above mentioned Hooved animals and their feathered friends of North
America for dinner, but as a teenager living in Saskachewan I enjoyed a full plate of
smoked Gopher with corncakes.
