ive been that close myself....... what amazes me is how some are so scared of a bear but the bear is usually more afraid of you lol .... i will say this it sure helps to have the high ground in that situation lol

Agreed, 99.99% of the time they will run from us. But I sure wouldn't want to meet the 0.01% who decided different. This was the "small" one we got two years ago.

that happened to me couple yrs ago here in penna
i was bow hunting for deer using a 10 ft ladder stand
almost had a heart attack when it put it's paw on the stand
i think people heard me yell couple miles away
glad it left in a hurry
never saw one there again though
