Where and who?

Between Canadian Tire getting into things, East Sides doing compound bows, Chesher's Outdoor being whitetail experts and Quinte Outdoors being a big player in the market forever I don't see where there is room for another store.

Any one else agree?

As much as I appreciate everyone of these stores no one has the magic answer. Canadian Tire has good hours and lots of inventory but lack in specialty items and customer service/experience,, eastsides is small, is rarely open but Dale is a great compound bow technician, Chesher's is far out of the way and without being able to sell Deer Pee anymore who knows how long there deer farm will be there and doesn't do compound bows, and as for Quinte, we have seen a steady decline in inventory and customer service for years now.

There needs to be one store that has GREAT selection, specializes in guns and bows, with shooting lanes, with knowledgable staff and keeps hours to accomodate most and wants to look after it's customers, when I buy something I want to feel great, I remember when Rick Wright would through in a box of shells or a hat if I bought anything substantial!

I don't know......the boy's at Quinte outdoors have always treated me right and I am always impressed when I walk in with my wife and they always remember her name. She might go in with me twice a year. Service has always been fine and always willing to offer advise on just about anything asked. Sure the stock might not be what it once was but Ithey have to be feeling the effects of every store that opens in the area. Prices have always been competetive and quite often below what even Bass Pro has to offer. Plus I donmt have to drive 2hrs. Besides to be quite honest I try to support the local guy anyways. Just my thought but I feel what we already have in the area is quite sufficient.

It would be nice to have another store because ever since rick sold Quinte Outdoors I don't buy anything there since there customer service sucks and they have a very cocky attitude. Rick was fare and friendly no matter who you are. I have given them way to many 2nd chances, I have stood there 10 ft away waiting for help for over 10 minutes as they laugh and joke and got no aknowledgement and left. Very sad, use to love that store and would spend $1000"s some years in there on guns, gps, gear etc.

bring on a new store just bring your good service

I agree about QOD. That place is really good to their regulars, and you might just get some medocre service when your there too, if there are too many regulars hanging around though, good luck getting courteous and patient help.

I've only been in the area for the last 5 years, but those guys have never been friendly or helpful when I've been in there and I always feel treated like I'm wasting their time or their frustrated because I'm asking questions.

Anyway, I welcome a new shop in town but agree that service has to be exceptional. I will always pay a little more for exceptional service and product that a store stands behind.

Kinda like using Jerry at A1 for your outboards.. . .he's not cheap, but he's honest, fair, personable and takes the time to spend talking it out with you. That's a rarity these days and worth paying a little extra for.
