I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to in the Hunting Regs, so hopefully someone here can help. I know someone in WMU 68B and 69A-2 who gave me permission to hunt on thier property. WMU 68B is the antlerless draw, and 69A-2 is a controlled hunt.
Can I apply to both and have 2 tags??

Hey Rover:

You certainly can apply for both. The controlled hunt is a separate season with it's own tag, used to keep deer numbers in check in high population areas, usually those that don't allow rifle hunting.

So am I allowed to buy 2 tags then, or only 1 and hunt both areas?? Thanks!

Buy your regular deer licence and apply for the antlerless draw by June 30. Then you apply for the controlled hunt by August 31 and if you are successful they will send you a 2nd tag in the mail. The controlled hunt is a separate season that runs after the regular firearm season. Regs don't mention a fee, but pretty sure they would require the same fee for the second tag. I'll leave that for someone who does the controlled hunt to confirm.

good luck in the draw.

just to clear some things up.. i have hunted the controlled hunt several times and indeed you can apply to both and possibly get accepted for both... but the tag you purchase for original draw is the same tag you use for the controlled hunt. so if you attach your tag in the first hunt you will not get another tag. but if you hunt with other people in the controlled hunt you can still "party hunt" and use someones tag if you shoot one.

hope this clears it up... if not pm me and i'll explain more..
