The results of the draw are out today folks. I checked today and not myself but a member of my group was successful!!!(It was my fiance-she also shot a buck last year bigger than mine but that is another story) Just wondering if anyone else has checked and if so if anyone else was successful.

Just found out today it was a cow tag that she drew. For area 61. Not as exciting as a bull tag but it will still be a blast im sure. Counting the days.....

Any thoughts on how you plan to hunt for a cow? Is there a call for cows? I'm guessing bugling only works for bulls.

The elk where I am going to hunt have been in the area for the past couple of years and we know a few funnel locations that they use as regular travel routes that we are going to set up on. Also using cow calls and bugles to locate a mature bull will also often times lead you to his Harem of cows.

Eight people applied, to groups of four and no tags, there are elk around us but I don't believe they want to get rid of them in our area.

We had 4 groups of 4, and another family member of mine also had a group of 4 and we got 1 tag. I think the odds were pretty much against everyone. I have heard rumors of upwards of 6,000 applicants.
