Hi gang
What trail camera takes the best pictures?
I have heard that flash units may not be the best. They seem to be the ones that r stolen or damaged by predators

It really depends on what you are setting the camera up to watch. I have both flashing units and infrared and have never had either damaged or stolen. If you are worried about damage/theives I would invest in a safety box. I use them for all my cameras and have yet to lose one (Have had bears get box off the tree but camera was ok). If you are going to be setting the cameras up over a scrape/bait i would go for a flashing unit. They are usually less expensive but have a bit slower of a reaction time from when the sensor goes off until the picture is taken. However as deer linger near scrapes/baits you can always get a few good pics and i don't find the flash bothers them. If you are going to be watching game trails i would look for a camera with the fastest picture delay and wouldn't worry about whether it was flash or infrared. You will find that most trail camera's you buy will take sufficient pictures for scouting purposes. However with some of the higher end cameras you do get clearer pictures and the ability for the camera to take pictures further away. I have cuddeback and moultrie cameras and some of my older moultrie camera's are only 2mp and they still take nice pics. I was actually considering going to canadian tire and buying their 2 pack of ez-cams. On sale right now for $150. Anyone have any experience with these?

Check out the pics from the 2010 trail camera thread at the top of the page. You can see different pictures from different cameras. We had a thread on the different cameras a while back, but I couldn't find it.
We need to get the 2011 camera picture thread going better. Wounded got the ball rolling. I have yet to set mine out (Moultrie IR55), but will be very soon. Anyone else catching any of our forest friends?

Put my cameras out 2 weeks ago and will be up to check them this weekend. Can't wait to find out whats roaming the woods this year
